ASNE Tidewater Section Awards VDMC with $1,000 STEM Grant for Digital Ship Challenge
The ASNE Tidewater Section generously awarded a $1,000 STEM grant to support VDMC’s upcoming Digital Ship Challenge.
Chapter Chair Ken Blair and Treasurer Chuck Doty visited the ODU Virginia Modeling, Analysis, & Simulation Center (VMASC) building to present the grant to our Curriculum Coordinator, Jennifer Renne.
This funding will directly benefit the participating teams in this year’s competition, which focuses on stability. Teams will be challenged to design and build a boat capable of staying afloat and remaining stable while loading and unloading supplies at sea.
We extend our gratitude to the American Society of Naval Engineers – ASNE for their continued support of our students and our commitment to advancing the maritime workforce by fostering the next generation of maritime innovation.
