Jessica Galassie Attends National Shipbuilding Research Program All Panel Meeting
In February, VDMC’s Senior Program Manager for Technology Insertion, Jessica Galassie, represented VDMC at the NSRP National Shipbuilding Research Program All Panel Meeting in Charleston, SC. This biennial event unites all nine NSRP panels to recently concluded and ongoing R&D projects, address technology gaps, and share best practices in ship design, construction, and modernization.
Beyond innovation, this is an opportunity to collaborate, strengthen our nation’s defense capabilities, and drive real solutions for the maritime industry.
Also at the meeting, Patrick Cahill, of CahillConsulting, presented the “Shipbuilding CoBot Alliance (SCA)” project update. SCA provides training with a focus on shipbuilding-specific applications so that those who receive training are immediately productive in their shipyards and will be effective as CoBot operators.
Thank you to GENEDGE for leading the charge to support workforce development, Tabet Manufacturing for hosting the training center in Norfolk, VA and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) for hosting the Training center in Marinette, WI.
VDMC is grateful, proud, and excited to be working together on the SCA with the following charter partners: Atmospheric Plasma Solutions, Lincoln Electric, Hepinstall Consulting Group, Master Boat Builders, Inc., Pacific Shipyards International, CahillConsulting, Virginia Digital Maritime Center, Tabet Manufacturing, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Robotic Technologies Of Tennessee, ESAB, and GENEDGE.
