Digital Maritime STEM Program

Riding the Wave of Industry 4.0/5.0 Technologies for Schools!

Maritime STEM Competitions

The Digital Ship Challenge is an annual regional competition for high school students across Hampton Roads. Student teams, led by their teachers and mentored by local maritime industry representatives, design, develop, and build innovative ships to take on today’s maritime challenges.

The Virginia Ship Repair Foundation sponsors the Digital Innovation Competition for Middle School students aimed at enhancing awareness of careers available in the Ship Repair Industry, and the skills and education needed to pursue those careers. Participation in the VSRF Digital Innovation Competition increases students’ mathematical, analytical, and conceptual skills, as well as gives them valuable information on an industry that is vital to their community.
